Better Care continues its expansion and comes to Canada, with Dräger

Dräger Canada includes Better Care technologies in its portfolio, which allow agnostic, centralized and interoperable connectivity of patient-generated biomedical data at any point along the healthcare route

Better Care continues to drive the company's internationalization into the North American market, with its expansion to Canada.

Dräger, a leading international company in the fields of medical technology and security, will begin distributing in Canada the most advanced hospitalized patient monitoring solutions from Better Care, a biotechnology company that develops software solutions based on artificial intelligence for continuous patient monitoring. Thanks to this alliance, both companies will increase their commitment to innovation in the healthcare sector. For his part, Xavier García Ordóñez, CEO of Better Care, affirms that “we seek to promote innovation for the benefit of hospital management, clinical practice and health outcomes with the ultimate goal of providing a benefit to society.

For this reason, we want to expand globally to reach more hospitals and healthcare professionals and we have the invaluable collaboration of Dräger, who help us to make this possible.” Dräger thus includes in its portfolio, agnostic solutions that integrate data bidirectionally with hospital information systems and connect, integrate and analyze the data of any medical device inside and outside the hospital, regardless of the manufacturer. These solutions provide indicators in mechanical ventilation, cardiology and hemodynamics, improving the quality and safety of daily patient care.

Better Care continues to drive the company's internationalization into the North American market, with its expansion to Canada. As García explains, “this collaboration represents a significant step in our expansion strategy to new markets, an expansion that is being driven by the funding round that we have recently carried out. We are sure that, thanks to this, we will be able to bring the innovation of our solutions to more healthcare professionals, offering all the biomedical data generated by the patient in a centralized and interoperable way.”

Solutions for complete and real-time patient monitoring Within the Better Care portfolio of technological solutions that will be distributed in Canada is BC Link®, a comprehensive solution for monitoring the monitored patient at any point along the healthcare route, ensuring the continuity of clinical information. The data recorded by BC Link® can be viewed from different applications to support healthcare professionals in clinical decisions: BC Mview®, which automatically integrates all the data of the monitored patient, and allows patient monitoring in real time and from any device; and BC Workstation®, a platform for retrospective data review that incorporates signal processing and mathematical models to support clinical decision-making. BC Link® allows the joint processing of all data, and with them, it can detect and predict critical events, incorporating specific tools to evaluate the patient's adaptation to mechanical ventilation. This is possible thanks to being an agnostic, centralized and interoperable solution, capable of exporting information from any medical device.

Rahim Chakri, Senior Director of Sales and Marketing at Dräger Medical Canada Inc. highlighted the revolutionary impact of BC Workstation® software and Better Care's mechanical ventilation indicators on the healthcare landscape. As the main distributor of this cutting-edge software serving Canada, Rahim has emphasized “the unprecedented advantage offered by these indicators. By seamlessly connecting Dräger and other brand ventilators into a single system, the indicators provide an integrated view of patient-ventilator asynchrony. This unified vision, available both for individual patients and for entire ICU units, offers a unique ecosystem that elevates critical care management in the monitoring and treatment of patient-ventilator asynchrony.”
