Xavier García Ordoñez, new Chief Executive Officer of Better Care

Better Care, a biotechnology company that develops innovative software solutions based on artificial intelligence for hospital management, has appointed Xavier García Ordóñez as its new Chief Executive Officer.

García Ordoñez joins the company at an ideal time when public policies are directed towards the renewal of the healthcare system and digitalization as a strategy for recovery and social, economic and administrative transformation. Precisely, the company's fundamentals are adapted to these policies with levers such as artificial intelligence and the interoperability and integration of systems to facilitate research, decision-making by the healthcare team and, ultimately, to be able to offer 5P medicine (population, preventive, predictive, personalized and participatory).

García Ordoñez has studied Business Administration and Management from the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) and a postgraduate degree in Risk Analysis from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). On the other hand, he also holds the European Financial Advisor Certificate from the Institut d'Estudis Financers (IEF), among other studies in the health and financial sectors. An expert in European healthcare systems and the banking business, he has an extensive professional career in the management and management of market access teams, commercial and sales departments in multinational companies such as Smith & Nephew and Dexcom; and also in other national companies such as Caixa Catalunya.

In the entrepreneurial environment, he is the founder of Addinet Healthcare Partners, a strategy and operations consultancy in the healthcare environment. García Ordoñez is a strong supporter of public-private collaboration as a strategy for greater effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability of the healthcare system. In fact, this model was a key factor for the founding of Better Care and is also a fundamental element for the management of the company. In this sense, since its inception in 2010 as a project in the innovation area within the Parc Taulí Hospital in Sabadell to solve their real needs. As of today, world-renowned hospitals in Europe, America, Africa and Asia have already incorporated Better Care technology into their data processing system.

In the field of teaching, García Ordoñez is an associate professor at EADA Business School as an expert in market access and healthcare technology, in addition to participating in various seminars and conferences. He has also published articles on team management and the healthcare environment and is co-author of the book “Everything You Need to Know About Market Access and Institutional Relations”.
