The new value proposition allows centralized and interoperable connectivity of the biomedical data generated by the patient at any point along the healthcare route, inside and outside the hospital.Madrid/ Barcelona December 12, 2022.- Better Care, a biotechnology company that develops software solutions based on artificial intelligence for continuous patient monitoring, announces the integration of DigitoMedica, a company specialized in the implementation of IoMT platforms for the management of the monitored patient in primary care and specialized, as well as in home hospitalization.
With this integration, Better Care takes another step in its growth strategy and enhances its value proposition for the digital transformation of hospital management, offering a personalized service that allows monitoring all clinical data generated by medical devices connected to the patient, as well as analytical and pharmacological information, at any point along the healthcare route, inside and outside the hospital, thus guaranteeing continuity of care. Starting from its origins as a spin-off project of the Institute of Research and Innovation at the Parc Taulí Hospital in Sabadell (I3PT), Better Care thus becomes a first-rate technological partner to undertake the digital transformation of the healthcare sector with the most advanced solutions for patient monitoring. Through its different multi-brand integration platforms that can be used throughout the healthcare process through different modular and customizable data visualization and exploitation applications, the company helps to optimize the care practice of all hospital services and the interaction with the patient and their families.
“With this operation, we continue to advance our strategic plan, reinforcing our position as a biotechnology company oriented to the digital transformation of healthcare and increasing the value we offer to hospital managers, thanks to our portfolio of advanced software solutions and the ability to provide consulting through the team's extensive technical and commercial experience. This new structure will allow us to cover more complex projects to continue to improve management and clinical practice, as well as care for patients and their environment”
says Xavier García Ordóñez, CEO of Better Care.
Hospital interoperability and remote patient control
In the same way, the company's portfolio of technological solutions is expanded and consists of different modules, fully interoperable with each other for the management of the monitored patient throughout the care route.
Among its solutions, there is BC Link from Better Care, a pioneering platform for data integration (waves, vital signs, trends and alarms) compatible with all complex monitoring devices connected to a patient that allows them to be processed, interpreted and stored in real time to monitor their condition. This data can be used in healthcare team decision-making, the optimization of healthcare resources, the formulation of medical hypotheses and even the prediction of possible critical events. In addition, BC Link is complemented by two incremental innovations: BC Workstation, an application that expands the visualization and allows an advanced analysis of the complete evolution of a patient from a cardiological, hemodynamic and ventilatory mechanical perspective; and BC Mview, a visualization module that automatically processes all the data of the monitored patient, centralizing all the information on a single screen and offering a direct and accessible view of the patient through an integrative and intuitive interface.
In addition, Better Care incorporates DigitoMedica, DigiCare and H-Connect solutions, which complement BC Link. On the one hand, H-Connect is a monitoring system for acute and chronic patients in the home hospitalization service, consisting of a mobile app for the patient or caregiver, and a clinical viewer where professionals can view the results of constant measurements and surveys, monitor adherence to proposed treatments, manage devices, etc. On the other hand, DigiCare is a digital sheet customizable by profiles for critical services, operating rooms and semi-critical patients with monitoring continuous multiparametric. This is integrated with the Patient's Medical Record to also show analytical results and the therapeutic plan (medications, infusions and nutrition administered in the pharmacy prescription management system).
“We are excited because from now on we are multiplying knowledge, experience and technology that will allow us to offer more advanced solutions that allow us to continue contributing to the future of healthcare digitalization”
explains Juan Manuel Jauregui Becker, sales manager at DigitoMedica and now Sales Director at Better Care.
A highly specialized human team
In addition, the company strengthens its position in the market with the integration of a human team with a high degree of specialization in the sector, as well as the expansion of its commercial network.
This growth means increasing the workforce to 20 people and that, in addition to its headquarters in Sabadell (Barcelona), it has an office in Valencia.
